The FlyersThe Fullerton Flyers were established in 2005 by the Golden Baseball League. They are an Independent Minor League Baseball team (meaning they are not affiliated with a Major League Team). In 2007 a private investment group headed by Actor (Desperate Housewives) James Denton and former Minor League Baseball Owner and Movie Producer Alan Mintz purchased the Flyers. With in a few weeks the name was changed to Orange County Flyers and a new "OC" logo was created along with changing the existing logo slightly. The team plans to establish itself as one of the best Minor League Teams in Independent baseball and bring a fun and exciting experience to the Orange County area for many years! The team had been managed the first three years by former MLB All-Star and Silver Slugger Garry Templton. They are NOW managed by former MLB All-Star and Hall Of Famer Gary Carter!Team Standings Over the Years 2005 W - L 34 - 56 -GBL Gold Glove Winner- Flyers Sean Walsh (2B) -Manager- Garry Templeton 2006 W - L 43 - 37 (*Clinched 2nd Half Championship) -GBL MVP- Flyers Peanut Williams -GBL Pitcher of the Year- Chris Jakubauskas -GBL All League Team- SS-Bret LeVier; DH-Peanut Williams; SP-Chris Jakubauskas; Closer-West Faust -Manager- Garry Templeton 2007 W - L 37 - 41 (Finished 4th in both halfs) -GBL All League Team- C-Buddy Morales; 2B-Dave Bacani; DH-Peanut Williams; SP-Ben Fox -Manager- Garry Templeton |
