Merchandise (Team Store) Attendant (1 spots available)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Excellent customer service skills and an enthusiastic approach to your position is a necessary trait of all candidates.

* Working along side another team store staff member to assist with sales, inventory.

* You are responsible for stocking merchandise items, organizing novelty items. During the games you will be assisting guests and working the cash register. After games, you will be responsible for balancing your money on a sales report.

* Inventory counts before and after games. Possible assistance with Operations Director for monthly inventory counts for all items.

* Operations Director may assign other duties at any time. Must be at least 17 years of age.

"The Kid" Zone Attendant


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Excellent customer service skills and an enthusiastic approach to your position is a necessary trait of all candidates.

* When you arrive, your first responsibility is to assist the Operations Director in preparing the kid zone. This will include carrying and setting up equipment and checking your money fund.

* Once the gates open, you are responsible to work your assigned area and enthusiastically solicit participation in your respective activity. At around the 7th inning, you will be responsible to check out your money fund with the Operations Director.

* You will also be asked to assist the operations director in breaking down the games and storing them.

* Operations Director may assign other duties at any time. Must be at least 17 years of age.

Ticket Taker (Front Gate)


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* You are to assist the ushers in wiping down seats until ten minutes before the gates open. At that time you are to report to your gate and greet all incoming guests with an enthusiastic greeting and eye contact. You are to tear and count tickets as fans enter the ballpark. In addition, you are to assist in noticing and preventing all food and beverages and other designated objects from being brought into and taken out of the ballpark.

Ticket Seller (Box Office)

* You are to assist guests with the selection and purchase of their tickets. In addition, you will handle a number of cash and credit card transactions and be responsible for balancing your cash drawer at the end of the game. You may be required to distribute Will Call tickets at the designated window; you must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Athletic Trainer Internship

DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities of this position include assisting with the administration of all athletic training services, including but not limited to: daily game coverage, prevention, recognition, maintenance and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, maintaining proper documentation, physician referrals and coverage for home and possibly some local away games.


Internship will begin May 12th 2008 and run through August 31st (possibly into September if we have playoff games).


Position is for a non-paid internship for either school credit or to gain knowlege and experience with a professional sports team in the area of sports medicine and athletic training. Duties may also included but not limited to: assisting in laundry details for team uniforms. Hours you can expect are approximately 1pm until 11pm on game days and prospective applicants would be asked to be available all season (44 home games).

 


REQUIREMENTS:

CPR & First-Aid certified, knowledge of basic taping techniques (Amy can teach you if need be).

Ticket Sales/Marketing Internship

DESCRIPTION:

If you are an individual seeking the first step in your sports career and are seeking a tremendous career opportunity, the Orange County Flyers have an open door. This is an internship position focused on selling new season and group ticket business to corporate prospects via the phone and face-to-face presentations. Throughout the program, top performers will have the ability to grow their career within the sports industry. At the end of the internship, our goal for each intern is to understand the following:

 


1.) Team revenues for a baseball team

2.) The connection between baseball operations and marketing

3.) Proven sales techniques

4.) Customer service

5.) The importance of professionalism in sports marketing

 


The Orange County Flyers will hire 4-8 Ticket Representatives, on an internship basis, to be responsible for the following:


- Solicit new season and group ticket business by telephone and mail.

- Service all incoming requests for season and group ticket information.

- Provide additional support to the ticket and marketing departments when necessary.

- Each intern is assigned his or her own desk space, phone, computer, and supplies.


The internship will begin March 2008 and end July 2008. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday with two time shifts of 9:30am to 1:30pm or 1:30pm to 5:30pm at the Flyers' front office located in Fullerton (111d N. Harbor Blvd.)


Downtown parking is provided free of charge, and employees will receive four complimentary tickets for each home Flyers game. Although there are no guarantees for full-time employment once the internship ends, individuals who excel are considered for future positions.


Qualifications: A strong desire to start a career with a team that has ample opportunity for growth. Must possess a strong commitment to the sports industry, strong work ethic, competitiveness, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn is a must.
